Ezra Arrives

Ezra had a crazy first week of life, but once he was out of the hospital's special care nursery, it was picture city. With only a blanket and a basket, the hospital photographer snapped a series of shots so adorable that they make puppies seem vicious by comparison. No Students!!!

Recently, I teamed up with Scott, another ELI guy in Thai Nguyen, to make a video for UTP (ELI's University Teaching Program) in Vietnam. The intended audience constituted young ELI teachers finishing up a year-long commitment in China. The video itself was just a lead-off into a longer Vietnam presentation that explained our current situation here and the corresponding opportunities. Besides leaving us both with a newfound appreciation for slowmotion effects and looped guitar riffs, we certainly hope the whole presentation piqued some interest in the possibility of a southeast switch.

Life in Thai Nguyen

Here's a slide show cataloging our first month or so in Thai Nguyen. There are quite a few pictures of our class of seven students, which Kristin and I co-taught for our first three weeks here. You'll also see some shots of our new home when we first moved in. It has come along nicely since then.

The Hanoi Circus

Recently Kristin and I checked out the Hanoi Circus. Contrary to the ads we saw on the street, motorbike-driving bears didn't make an appearance on this particular night. However, we did get to see monkeys ride bicycles, which more than made up for it in my opinion.

We had a great time and hope you enjoy our "best of" video montage.

Langauge School Graduation
